Eclipse

From the archives: M/Y Eclipse anchors her 533' just outside St. George's Harbor in Grenada. Eclipse was the largest motor yacht in the world when I made these photographs in 2012. For a sense of scale, there’s a $10 million AS365 Dauphin helicopter parked on the top deck and a security guard can be seen standing just above the waterline on a platform at the stern.

The yacht is equipped with two helipads, a missile detection and defense system, and an anti-paparazzi infrared strobe to disrupt digital camera sensors.

In more recent times, the yacht and its owner have been subject to international sanctions. The New York Time reports that Eclipse has been sticking close to Turkey to avoid seizure since 2022.
