I first saw the Grand Prismatic hot spring at a book fair in elementary school.  A book of natural wonders featured a double page spread and I remember feeling awestruck.  HOW CAN THIS BE REAL!?

So when Avi and I arrived at the ground-level boardwalk, a flat view of the spring just wasn't going to do...  Instead, we scouted a steep nearby hillside to take in this otherworldly view - and satisfy a childhood wish to see this with my own eyes.
